My name is Dwight Miller, and I am a disabled Navy veteran.  Many years ago, my family went to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire in the Hollywood Hills of Southern California where something extraordinary happened!  The birth of the longest running Renaissance Faire in America!  I became a big fan of Renaissance Faires and began to dress up in Renaissance costumes.  I have to say it was FUN!  I have heard for years about the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism).  My wife, Beverly, and I joined after we moved from sunny Southern California to Northwest Ohio.  We continue to dress up in costumes and participate in local SCA events.  We have been active with the SCA for over ten years, and love every minute of it!  The SCA motto is:  "Learn, Teach, Inspire!"  A beautiful motto that means a great deal to us!  I taught myself how to do leather working, playing the harp, and blacksmithing!  Beverly is an Archery Marshal, learned and loves to do illuminations, learning and loves medieval dances,  and also blacksmithing!  It has been one of the most rewarding experiences in our lives to be involved with the SCA.  We look forward to many more years!
